Implementation of labour law against discrimination(Resource ID: 309)

Students and stakeholders will have the possibility to be informed about direct and indirect discrimination and also about the importance of the fair implementation of the labour laws and how to avoid the discrimination. The students task is to observe if there is any discrimination form in the organization and give their ideas, based on the law, on the elimination or reduction of the discrimination level and the consequences of it in the organization progress. The role of the students will be to find the points of discrimination that are taken into consideration by the businesses and stakeholders and will inform these organizations how to apply the law against gender discrimination and the Labour Law in the promotion of HR diversity.

The gender inequality in the labour market is still present in Kosovo and other countries of the region. Various laws have attempted to diminish to some extent this kind of issue.

Raising the awareness and the possibility of the fair implementation of equal rights is important for the student and the stakeholders after acquiring law No.03/L –212, (Labour Law) for the efficient implementation of the human resources without gender discrimination.

Fair employment treatment or the employment of individuals in a fair way and without prejudices is important since the discrimination generally attracts media attention, the legal system and law makers. In addition to this, legal requirements exist for all aspects of labour relations and matters. These mandates raise social responsibilities for an organization and for each of its managers to be in full compliance with various laws and administrative guidelines and instructions.

Integration of Social Stakeholders
Small enterprises and NGOs will cooperate with the students and will be active partners. Small businesses will benefit since they’ll have the possibility to see the importance of the efficient use of human resources and will raise their awareness for the equal treatment of human resources and the consequences of ignoring the laws in power.

After finishing this resource the students:
- will be able to apply their knowledge about labour law in the real world;
- will be able to identify discrimination at the workplace and be prepared for the labour market;
- will be aware of existing laws against discrimination at work and how to implement them.

2 DAYS First day: 4 hours to visit the organization and the other 2 hours to analyse the situation in cooperation with the professor Second day: workshop with the stakeholders and the other 2 hours the students will present their findings.
